May2	The commercial and genetic areas were fertilized on April 20. The commercial area was planted on April 30. The genetic area was planted on May 2.
June4	The stand looks good. The genetic section got cultivated June 3. The commercial section is scheduled to be sprayed with glyphosate as soon as the wind stops blowing. Alleyways were cut in all areas June 3.
June19	Roundup has been sprayed twice on the commercial section and the hand weeding crew was successful in the genetic section. Good symptoms are beginning to appear in the genetic section.
June26	Symptoms are continuing to progress. The weed control is good but hand weeding will be conducted during the next 2 weeks in the genetic section.
July15	The second hand weeding was conducted on the genetic section. We are seeing foliar symptoms in the susceptible lines.
July31	Both the commercial and genetic nurseries have very good foliar symptoms.
August12	Foliar ratings were conducted on the nursery this past week. Some of the plants in the genetic area have died from rhizomania. Symptoms in the genetic nursery are evident in the attached photo. The line with yellow upright leaves is susceptible and the one next to it is resistant.
